You can tell this one started as a more obvious study of Lawren Harris' Autumn Algoma. I had a much better idea of how I wanted the finished background to be painterly so I didn't bother with lining it this time.

Catch me attempting a Tom Thompson study in the middle of this chapter. I did fully ink the backgrounds - yo can see some in the last WIP - but I went so ham on painting it looks better without. Probably would have been better with a brush that simulates oils but I'll see if I can manage somethin...
