Respectfully, if you had listened, you would have noticed a crack chipped away from Damon from the monster he pretends to be. It happened twice in this episode. What Stefan was saying is very important as well. Body language, facial expressions, tone, music, and symbolism make up 70% of this show, so it is crucial to pay attention. Prepare to be shocked and put on your seatbelt because you are about to embark on a journey. I am so happy to enjoy myself with your reaction.

Elena is very young but she is a very good people reader, she gets Damon, she gets tat he is hurt, and he there is the first time Damon showed his real self, the mask dropped when she showed him compassion. Another very important thing you totally missed: Wen Elena asked him "who dated KATHERINE first?" Damon could have told her his side of the story, lie about it.. ON the contrary, he told her to ask to Stefan. He didn't wanted for Elena to hear his side, but his brother side, to make Elena heard the story from her boyfriend's mouth, that is very gentlemen like. Damon choose not to badmouth his brother, he has a form of integrity. That should tell you something!!! If he was jealous or that bad, wouldn't he take advantage of the situation?
