Augustโs Postcard of the Month is here! This postcard will go out next month to all Crow Collector and Raven Dandy members of the MBPS. Raven Dandies will also be getting a fun little ~gold foil premium bonus card~, which Iโll reveal later today or tomorrow! Itโs very silly, but I think youโll enjoy it a lot.
I discussed the concept for this Postcard of the Month in my previous WIP post from earlier this week, which I encourage you to read. The long and short of it was: โIโm starting what I hope will be a series of illustrations that are both charming and fun studies of period fashions, imagined encounters across the centuries, as well as subtly carrying one of the greatest fixations of my work: the threads of queer lives tangled across time, speaking to one another, speaking to us now.โ Septemberโs piece will be a companion, so at the very least, it will be a duology. Iโd love to come back to it sometime next year as well.
Iโve also included the finished b&w version of this illustration; Iโve started working over a very warm grey background instead of a true grey, and I really enjoy the effect. It reminds me more of working traditionally on toned paper, and I always end up reluctant to go to color because I like them so much. Would there be any interest in these versions appearing as bonus cards or prints?
