In my mind this is in modernity during their villages cultural day, basically everything shuts down, everyone reps their home country, and they have a fair and eat lots of good food from around the world and enjoy their community. I think largely people dress in a modern fashion? But I think some put on some historical garments for fun. Portia is in 18th century Scottish attire, and runs the pub booth with her dad so sheβs like wtfβ¦ everyone gets a day off of work but ME because obvi the town needs booze. She prob supplies/sources alcohol/drinks upon request so sheβs kinda expanded just from representing Scotland π. Edwinβs family obvi sets up shop next to Portiaβs family so they can gossip because duh.
Edwin lost his glasses and forgot his contacts so heβs mostly just grumpy about his family embarrassing him because they absolutely do and canβt see anything. Then he fell down the hill behind the fair trying to take a smoke break and Portia saw the whole thing. How embarrassing. He saves it by offering her a smoke so then they spend the rest of the day π out of their minds and making fun of each other (maybe hands brush, maybe admit some form of affection WHO KNOWS)
